Christmas giving doesn’t have to mean consumerism. Through this Alternative Christmas effort, our holiday spending becomes a way to:
Support meaningful missions that bring hope locally and globally
Celebrate community gifts by sharing skills, talents, and creativity
Give with intention — blessing loved ones with presents that carry purpose and impact
The funds used to purchase these precious gifts will go directly to our mission partners.
Wenatchee Immigrant Justice: Helps with legal and practical needs for individuals facing detention for immigration status.
Community Action Marketplace: Provides perishable and non-perishable food items to those facing food insecurity in our area.
World Central Kitchen: They are first to the frontlines globally, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
Partners In Health: Strives to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them around the world.
Your contribution could be:
A handmade quilt, knit scarf, or hat
A set of handmade cards
A jar of homemade jam or a holiday treat
A painting, woodwork, or glass piece
A service such as dog walking, snow shoveling, landscaping, or window cleaning
Every item or service is a chance to share your time, talent, or creativity — and bring joy to another family this Christmas.
We would love to have photos of contributions by mid-October to help people plan for their Christmas shopping. Please reach out to the office or use this form to let us know what you plan to contribute or discuss options.
If you’d like to support our ministry partners with a financial contribution, please note Christmas for a Cause on a check or use the “Other Donation” online and put Christmas for a Cause as the note.
We plan to share a digital and printed booklet of items that will be available for purchase in November to help you plan ahead. In-person shopping days will be at Wenatchee First United Methodist Church on December 7 and 14.
