Our pastor visit shut-ins, the hospitalized, and supports members through attendance at their plays, dances, school programs and other community events.
Congregational Care team members also visit members, and the Heart to Heart team sends personal cards to church members every month.
Members are also intentional about creating opportunities to socialize and connect through events that include Wednesday Night Fellowship during the school year, monthly Family Nights, Women’s Day Out, various small groups, and a number of other events.
Congregational Care includes:
• Visits and calls to homes, hospitals and care centers by pastors
• Individual counseling by pastors (grief counseling, marriage preparation, crisis counseling, etc.)
• Heart to Heart and Congregational Care committees
• Wednesday Night Fellowship (during the school year)
• SAIL exercise classes
• Telephone and email connections
• Picnic, volunteer appreciation dinners, and other social events
• Support of small groups
• Communication (i.e. Skylines, mailings, etc.)
The Welcome and Hospitality Committee provides face-to-face contact with the congregation, visitors, and those spending time here for special events, i.e., funerals, weddings, etc. in a variety of ways that inspire the welcoming side of all of us!
Our Heart to Heart ministry equips lay persons to provide Christian one to one care for those who are home bound or in care facilities.
HEART TO HEART MISSION STATEMENT
We believe that no one in the Body of Christ goes unnoticed, uncared for, or unloved. "Heart to Heart" equips persons for a ministry of caring and nurturing in their service to God and the church. Those who are gifted and willing provide care for people in need of prayer, time, and loving attention. This is the model by which our congregation serves our community in God's mercy, love, and grace.
Our "Heart to Heart" team multiplies our Christian care-giving and outreach. Working together with our ordained pastors, we touch far more lives with Christian care than our clergy staff could possibly reach by themselves.
"Heart to Heart" Volunteers:
Make at least one personal contact per month with a person who is either shut in or in a care facility
Help those who are unable to attend worship services feel connected to the church
Communicate needs they become aware of to the church office
Make a one year commitment of service to the team
Meet regularly with one other for continuing education, support, and sharing

Along with our pastor, a seven-member visitation team makes contact with members who are not able to be as active as they once were. With each visit they bring the love of the church (and sometimes cookies, flowers, or other "treats"!).
The Visitation Team also calls on those who are absent due to sickness, injury, caregiving for loved ones, and more. Collectively hundreds of visits are made each year in through this ministry.
