Music

At this time FUMC is asking that anyone who takes part in performing in or leading a worship service be vaccinated. We will also be taking precautions during our practices including distancing and wearing masks.

FUMC Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir participates in the 10:15 am service from September to June and presents a wide range of musical styles from classical to country.  Most choir members are seasoned veterans, and many participate in other singing groups in the community as well.

First Church has been blessed with excellent choral leadership through the years, and is accompanied by Susie Schell-Dietsch and occasionally Judy Kelts and Margaret Scott.

The Sanctuary Choir meets Wednesday nights (Sept.-May) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary. All singers ages 14 to 104 are welcome to join at any time during the season.

Contact the church for more information.

Joyous Spirits Bell Choir

The Joyous Spirits Bell Choir participates in Sunday worship on a monthly basis and performs frequently with the Sanctuary Choir.  The 10-12 member Joyous Spirits ensemble adds a brilliant musical flare, especially to our festive holiday services. Like the Sanctuary Choir, this adult bell choir is made up of committed individuals who love to make beautiful music!

If you have music experience and can read music (at least a little!), contact Bell Choir Director Anna Ruddell to join the group on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary during the school year. The first practice of the season will be September 12th.

FUMC Praise Team

Our Praise Singers are made up of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead in worship at the 8:15 am Summer Outdoor Worship Service and lend their music to the 10:15 am sanctuary worship service during the school year.

The Praise Team meets Wednesdays at 6:30-7:00 pm during the school year.  Any instrument is welcome, including young players interested in playing with a group in a presentation setting.  Contact Matthew Kimmel to get involved.

Special Music

Instrumental and vocal solos, duets, trios, and more are thrilling ways to be involved in the worship of the church. Those contributing in this way prepare on their own, giving God their very best.

Contact Rev. Debbie if interested.
