WEDNESDAY
NIGHT ADULT CLASSES
AFTER DINNER
For the Living of These Days
Taught by Bob Brizee on Wednesdays from
7:00-8:30 p.m. This class chooses a topic to discuss through
shared interests.
World Religions Class
Wednesdays at 7:00pm
Christianity and World Religions, Wrestling With
Questions People Ask, is a video-based study and discussion class
facilitated by Peter Leslie, meeting Wednesday evenings, 7:00 pm through
Feb. 17, 2010.
Based on the videos of Methodist Pastor Adam
Hamilton, the class examines Christianity and four other major world
religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism.
This Overview class is designed to help us wrestle
with tough questions people ask, such as: Why are there so many
different religions? How should Christians view and relate to them? How
is God at work in other religions? And, what is the fate of those who
earnestly pursue God through other religions?
Adam Hamilton will describe how these religions
began, interview leading teachers of each faith to discover their
essential teachings, and suggest ways each religion differs from and are
similar to Christianity. In the final session, we’ll explore some of the
basic beliefs of Christianity, and Pastor Hamilton will present his
answers to the question, "Why Christianity?"
The class will provide participant handouts containing key insights,
a biblical foundation relating to each faith, a brief history of world
religions, and continuing study references.
Please contact the office 663-1607 if you are interested in attending
this class.
